EchoRemind Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how EchoRemind collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the EchoRemind voice reminder and planner app, including the Google Calendar sync features. The app may appear as "Echo" in some app-store or in-app surfaces.
Information We Collect
- Reminder content you create in EchoRemind, including titles, notes, dates, times, recurrence rules, completion state, selected calendars, settings, and notification preferences.
- Audio you choose to submit for transcription, derived transcripts, reminder parsing results, and related AI processing metadata.
- Account, device, and support information such as anonymous or account identifiers, email address when you contact support, push notification tokens, app settings, diagnostics, request timing, error logs, and abuse-prevention data.
Google User Data We Access
If you connect Google Calendar, EchoRemind accesses only the Google user data needed to provide calendar sync and related support:
- Google profile and email information used to identify the connected Google account in the app.
- Google Calendar list metadata, such as calendar IDs, names, colors, time zones, access roles, and which calendars are selected for EchoRemind sync.
- Google Calendar events and event metadata needed to display calendars/events and keep EchoRemind reminders aligned with Google Calendar events.
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens used to authenticate requests to Google APIs after you connect Google Calendar.
- Google Calendar sync tokens, page tokens, webhook/channel metadata, resource IDs, expiration timestamps, and related reliability metadata used for incremental sync and change notifications.
- Mappings between EchoRemind reminders and Google Calendar event IDs, including create/update/delete state needed to reconcile changes across EchoRemind and Google Calendar.
How We Use Information
- Provide EchoRemind's core reminder features, including voice capture, transcription, reminder parsing, scheduling, recurrence, notifications, and selected-calendar settings.
- Display your Google calendars and relevant events inside EchoRemind so you can choose calendars and understand your schedule.
- Create, update, and delete Google Calendar events when you create, edit, complete, delete, or reschedule reminders that are synced with Google Calendar.
- Keep EchoRemind and Google Calendar aligned through two-way sync, incremental sync tokens, webhooks/channels, event mappings, and conflict/reliability handling.
- Send reminder notifications and calendar-related notification updates through device or push notification providers when needed.
- Maintain reliability, troubleshoot sync issues, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and operate the service securely.
Storage, Security, and Retention
- Google OAuth tokens are stored server-side in encrypted form and are used only to call Google APIs for the connected account and features you authorize.
- Reminder records, selected calendar settings, Google event mappings, sync tokens, webhook/channel metadata, diagnostics, and support records may persist in EchoRemind backend systems so the app can sync reliably across sessions.
- Where applicable, EchoRemind may keep local or device caches of reminders, calendar names, event summaries, settings, and notification state so the app loads quickly and can provide expected device behavior.
- Audio submitted for transcription is processed securely and is not retained longer than necessary for transcription, parsing, reliability, abuse prevention, and billing records.
- If you disconnect Google Calendar, EchoRemind stops using stored Google OAuth tokens for sync and removes or disables sync credentials. Calendar-derived records, mappings, or logs may remain for a limited period where needed for deletion workflows, backups, security, legal compliance, or support.
- If you delete reminders or request deletion of your EchoRemind data, we delete or de-identify the relevant active records unless retention is required for security, legal, billing, backup, or support purposes.
- Data is protected in transit with TLS and stored with access controls designed to limit access to authorized systems and personnel.
Sharing and Processing
- Google user data is shared with Google APIs only as needed to authenticate your account, read calendar data, and create, update, delete, or sync Google Calendar events at your direction.
- We use backend, database, storage, hosting, logging, security, and support providers to operate EchoRemind. These providers process data only as needed to provide services to us.
- We use push notification providers as needed to deliver reminder notifications and calendar-related notification updates.
- We use AI and transcription providers, including Google Gemini API and Fireworks AI API, to process audio, transcripts, and reminder content solely to provide EchoRemind features. We configure available provider settings to opt out of model training on user-submitted content where available.
- We do not sell Google user data or EchoRemind user data. We do not use Google user data for advertising, ad targeting, data brokers, surveillance, credit eligibility, employment eligibility, insurance eligibility, or unrelated product purposes.
- EchoRemind's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to Google Data Use
If EchoRemind needs to access new categories of Google user data or use existing Google user data for a new purpose, we will update this Privacy Policy, notify affected users, and prompt users for consent or reauthorization before the new Google data use begins.
